Tragedy was at play today at
Erin-Osun, Irepodun Local Government of Osun State as a team of the Police
special squad, Osun State command engaged a gang of suspected Kidnappers in a
gun battle.
Amiloaded gathered that the
fierce battle between the gang and the men of the Nigeria Police lasted for a
long while and left three members of the gang deadly injured and they were
arrested with one other member of the gang while a member was reported to be at
large.
When contacted, the Police
Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folashade Odoro revealed that the wounded suspect
were under treatment at an intensive care unit in the state capital.
Odoro explained that the
suspects were said to have kidnapped innocent citizens from Osogbo and Ogbomoso
and collected over three Million Naira as ransom.
When Interviewed, a member of
the gang who identified himself as Akin Ibitoye told Amiloaded that he joined the
business after his brother who was his benefactor was amputated in the March
Yoruba/Hausa crisis in Ife.
