The first woman to buy a car in Nigeria was Madam Efunroye Tinubu.She was born in 1805 and died in 1887.She was one of the most powerful women in Nigerian history ,a business tycoon.She engaged in businesses such as slave trade,salt trade,palm oil trade etc.Its rumored she had about 360 personal slaves,but thats a story for another day.The famous Tinubu Square was named after her.

Nigeria’s first car importer is William Akinola Dawodu he started as early as 1919.He was born in 1879 and he attended CMS grammar school.He was a sole agent for the Firestone Tyres, Dodge, Charlotte and Reo Motors .

The first car was Izuogu Z-600 , built by Engineer Ezekiel Izuogu.The prototype was launched in 1997.

The prototype was equipped with a self made 1.8L four cylinder engine that got 18mpg and allowed the car to achieve a top speed of 140 km/h (86 mph) .

Due to political and financial constraints ,mass production couldn’t take place.

The Illegality Of Covenant University Students’ Suspension By School Management

By Festus Ogun The management of the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State has suspended about 200 undergraduates of the faith-based institution for missing an Easter ‘Youth Alive’ program. The school had earlier organized the four days Easter retreat for the students and had also made attendance mandatory. However, while some of the students were fed up – for various reasons – of going for church services in the morning and evening for the four uninterrupted days, they couldn’t just but miss some days out of the retreat. Nigerian Navy To Use 'made In Aba' Shoes, Uniforms (photos)

The Nigerian navy has indicated interest in patronizing 'Made in Aba' products. A deal between the Navy and the Abia state government when the Governor of the state, Okezie Ikpeazu, in the company of the Commissioner for Industry, Chief Henry Ikoh received a high powered delegation from the Chief of Naval Staff, led by Commodore Chris Obinta at the Abia State Governor's Lodge Aba recently. Speaking at the occasion, Ikpeazu expressed his profound appreciation to the Federal Government for supporting and given impetus to the "Made_in_Aba" initiative. Quoting Ikpeazu, "I commend the Nigeria Navy for indicating interest in procuring their wears from our people here in Aba. I must commend the Federal Government for the support given to our Made-in-Aba promotion campaign." This deal is coming shortly after Ikpeazu successfully brokered a deal in China for a 1.5 billion dollars shoe industry to be built in Aba.
