Invest In Abia, Get Land Title Documents In 24hrs — IKPEAZU

ABA—ABIA State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has said that it takes only 24 hours for an interested investor to get a certificate of occupancy to any land in the state.

Ikpeazu, who stated this in Aba while receiving the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, said Abia remains the most investor friendly state, boasting of an industrial area strategically located with guaranteed power and access to neighbouring states.

The governor, who outlined some of the projects embarked upon by his administration, disclosed that the state has acquired a 9,000 hectare industrial layout with a certificate of occupancy which is available for investors interested in Aba.

He said, “We have acquired a 9,000 hectare land with C of O, if you want an industry today; I have a place, within 24 hours, I will give you the C of O of that place. There is a gas pipeline around there to generate energy. The place is 30 minutes to Port Harcourt, 45 minutes to Ikot Ekpene and less than an hour to Owerri. It is a strategically located industrial area; we are prepared to do everything to ensure we have about 10 Chinese companies that are coming as anchors, including the 1.5m Dollars shoe factory.”

He further commended the performance of members of the House of Representatives from the State for attracting projects to their constituencies and explained that former members of the House of Representatives, Eziuche Ubani and Uzo Azubuike, who are now serving Commissioners for Works and Agriculture, respectively, have performed excellently.

Earlier, the Speaker had informed Gov. Ikpeazu that he was in Aba to commission some projects attracted to the city by the House of Representatives member representing Aba North/Aba South federal constituency, Mr. Ossy Prestige.

Nigerian Navy To Use 'made In Aba' Shoes, Uniforms (photos)

The Nigerian navy has indicated interest in patronizing 'Made in Aba' products. A deal between the Navy and the Abia state government when the Governor of the state, Okezie Ikpeazu, in the company of the Commissioner for Industry, Chief Henry Ikoh received a high powered delegation from the Chief of Naval Staff, led by Commodore Chris Obinta at the Abia State Governor's Lodge Aba recently. Speaking at the occasion, Ikpeazu expressed his profound appreciation to the Federal Government for supporting and given impetus to the "Made_in_Aba" initiative. Quoting Ikpeazu, "I commend the Nigeria Navy for indicating interest in procuring their wears from our people here in Aba. I must commend the Federal Government for the support given to our Made-in-Aba promotion campaign." This deal is coming shortly after Ikpeazu successfully brokered a deal in China for a 1.5 billion dollars shoe industry to be built in Aba.

Lagos Police Use CCTV To Arrest Notorious Pickpocket In Oshodi (photos)

The newly deployed mobile CCTV camera procured by the Lagos State Government for the operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad has recorded its first surveillance arrest. The suspect was arrested in Oshodi while the Mobile CCTV was being deployed at Oshodi to monitor the area. The suspect, Emmanuel Alowonle, an 18-year old, a native of Ondo State, disclosed during interrogation that he came to Lagos about two years ago and work as a bus conductor in the area. Politics Nigeria learned that Alowonle was arrested after stealing from another commuter's handbag on the pedestrian walkway. RRS officers spotted Emmanuel in the crowd picking from a passer-by handbag through the mobile CCTV camera. The CCTV camera was jointly managed and put into use by both RRS operatives and technical assistance officers of the Lagos State Response Unit, (LRU).
