Olakunle Churchill Covers The Entrepreneur Africa May Edition; To Empower Youths (photo)

The Charman of Big Church Group, Olakunle Churchill has continued to attract more attention and commendations with his philanthropic works. And this time he's been exclusively featured on the cover of one of Africa's top business magazine, The Entrepreneur Africa, ahead of the planned flagoff of his latest empowerment program, the Green Project.

In the magazine, Dr. Churchill gives insight into the project, stating that "it's an agro business empowerment scheme, and we're set to give out farming lands and funds to interested youths across Nigeria". The serial entrepreneur and philanthropist further added, "we're selecting 1,000 beneficiaries per state, plus the FCT". That's to say that over 36,000 youths are estimated to benefit from the project.

The magazine further traced the Abuja-based Churchill's entrepreneurial history, his passion for ICT, and how that passion led to the emergence of Big Church Group. Indeed, it's a rounded story of his life, business, and philanthropy.

A forty-year-old man, Isiya Inusa, on Thursday, confessed that he killed an okada rider because of his inability to pay the N100 fare. Isiya, who spoke in Hausa at the headquarters of Katsina State Police Command where he was paraded, said he attacked the rider along Kankara-Kabuki Road, in Katsina. He said, “Yes, I slaughtered him with my knife. I asked him to take me to Kabuki village from Kankara. He demanded N100 as fare. I did not tell him I did not have that money on me. “On the way, I brought out my knife and slaughtered him. The police later arrested me while riding on his (the victim) motorcycle.” Police sources gave the name of the victim as Al -Hasan Usani, aged 43. It was further learnt that Isiya actually tricked Al-Hasan into taking him to Kabuki village with a view to snatching the motorcycle.

Lagos Police Use CCTV To Arrest Notorious Pickpocket In Oshodi (photos)

The newly deployed mobile CCTV camera procured by the Lagos State Government for the operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad has recorded its first surveillance arrest. The suspect was arrested in Oshodi while the Mobile CCTV was being deployed at Oshodi to monitor the area. The suspect, Emmanuel Alowonle, an 18-year old, a native of Ondo State, disclosed during interrogation that he came to Lagos about two years ago and work as a bus conductor in the area. Politics Nigeria learned that Alowonle was arrested after stealing from another commuter's handbag on the pedestrian walkway. RRS officers spotted Emmanuel in the crowd picking from a passer-by handbag through the mobile CCTV camera. The CCTV camera was jointly managed and put into use by both RRS operatives and technical assistance officers of the Lagos State Response Unit, (LRU). Nigerian football legend, Jay Jay Okocha met with Brazilian legend Ronaldinho on tour in Bahrain. Both footballers were team mates at Paris St Germain FC. It is rumored that Jay Jay was a source of influence on Ronaldinho's style of play. Both were joined by Carlos Valdarama who won the South American Footballer of the Year award in 1987 and 1993, and in 1999.
