Missing Female Ekiti State University Student (Photos)

A 200 level student of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Adefunke Adewodun, has been declared missing by the Ekiti State Police Command. Adefunke, a student of the Department of Theatre and Media Arts, was said to have come to her hostel in Osekita a couple of weeks ago, where she picked some of her belongings and left.

According to reports, the mother of the missing girl, Mrs Rosaline Adewodun, said her daughter had called her twice from captivity, requesting that the family should pray for her safe return.

She told reporters that she saw Adefunke last on Sunday, 23 April, 2017 when she left Ondo after the first semester break, adding that efforts to trace her since then had proved fruitless.

Confirming the incident to reporters on Monday in Ado Ekiti, spokesman for the Police Command, Alberto Adeyemi, noted that efforts are ongoing to unravel the whereabouts of the missing girl.

The newly deployed mobile CCTV camera procured by the Lagos State Government for the operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad has recorded its first surveillance arrest. The suspect was arrested in Oshodi while the Mobile CCTV was being deployed at Oshodi to monitor the area. The suspect, Emmanuel Alowonle, an 18-year old, a native of Ondo State, disclosed during interrogation that he came to Lagos about two years ago and work as a bus conductor in the area. A forty-year-old man, Isiya Inusa, on Thursday, confessed that he killed an okada rider because of his inability to pay the N100 fare. Isiya, who spoke in Hausa at the headquarters of Katsina State Police Command where he was paraded, said he attacked the rider along Kankara-Kabuki Road, in Katsina. He said, “Yes, I slaughtered him with my knife. I asked him to take me to Kabuki village from Kankara. He demanded N100 as fare. I did not tell him I did not have that money on me. “On the way, I brought out my knife and slaughtered him. The police later arrested me while riding on his (the victim) motorcycle.” Police sources gave the name of the victim as Al -Hasan Usani, aged 43. It was further learnt that Isiya actually tricked Al-Hasan into taking him to Kabuki village with a view to snatching the motorcycle.
