65-Year-Old Man Rapes His Friend’s 12-Year-Old Daughter, Gives Her N20

A 65 - year - old man , Friday Azala , was on Tuesday remanded in prison custody by an Egor Magistrates ’ Court for allegedly having canal knowledge of his friend ’ s 12 - year - old daughter.

Azala was accused of defiling the girl at No . 6 , Agho Street , off Textile Mill Road, Benin on April 9 , 2017 .
According to the prosecutor , Ben Omoruyi , the accused is a friend to the victim ’ s father , who is bed - ridden and always comes to the house to visit his friend .

Omoruyi told the court that the accused had defiled the girl “ several times before he was caught in the act . ”
He also said the accused always lured the girl with N20 , to have his way .

When his plea was taken , Azala , however , pleaded not guilty .

Nnamdi Kanu's Bail Conditions

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday admitted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to bail on health grounds. In a brief ruling, Justice Binta Nyako said that she was convinced that Kanu was ill and needed more medical attention than the Nigerian Prisons was giving him. “The first defendant, Nnamdi Kanu, has appealed to the court for bail based on health grounds and it is only the living that can stand trial. “So I am minded to grant him bail so that he can attend to his health and face his trial alive,” Nyako said. She, however, ordered that while on bail, Kanu must not hold any rallies, grant any interviews or be in a crowd of more than 10 people. Nyako gave other bail conditions to include three sureties in the sum of N100 million each.
